A Mindanao Medical Foundation College graduate has topped the December 2014 dentistry examinations.
Benjay Abayato Maxino, a 23-year-old graduate from had an average score of 85.43 percent, topping the 725 participants in the written exams, according to a report by Mindanews.
According to the report, Maxino said in a telephone interview that he has received associate offers after the announcement of results. However, he said his priority now is to help out his community in Purok Sto. Niño in Carmen, Davao del Norte. He plans to offer free dental services, adding that he doesn’t have any budget.
Maxino said he was overwhelmed by the examination results, amid facing financial difficulties even with a scholarship provided by the institution.
Another local dentistry school, Davao Medical School Foundation (DMSF), also had students among the board exam topnotchers.
Jan Michael Silvosa Antes gained an average of 83.77 percent while Shahzaadee Bello Imlan got 83.07 percent.
268 out of 725 passed the test in December while 257 out of 271 passed the practical exam held this month by the Board of Dentistry, according to the PRC release.
