Davao’s Mangosteen New Flavor of Magnolia Ice Cream
MAGNOLIA, one of the leading ice cream brands in the country, forged a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with the City Government of Davao to showcase the city’s famous mangosteen in its Best of the Philippines (BOTP) ice cream flavors for the second semester of this year.
Davao’s mangosteen will add up on the list of Magnolia’s BOTP flavors.
The MOA was signed by Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio and Lemuel Ortonio, Duterte’s chief of staff on the part of the City Government; Mauricio Alcon, Magnolia general manager; and Pinky Custodio, the ice cream company’s brand manager, on Monday at the City Hall conference room.
“Magnolia desires to support the mangosteen industry of Davao City by showcasing the best of Davao City to the realization of the mandate of the city,” read the MOA.
Magnolia’s initiative in including mangosteen (garcinia mangostana) is part of the company’s effort in recognizing and showcasing local flavors across the country.
BOTP flavors also include macapuno banana and macapuno langka from the province of Laguna, coffee crumble and tsokolate tablea of Batangas province, mangoes and cream of Guimaras and the Baguio good shepherd with the ube keso.
